Labroy Christens AHTS In Batam, Indonesia Labroy Shipbuilding
and Engineerng Pte Ltd (LSE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of mainboard listed
marine transportation and shipbuilding group, Labr¬oy Marine Ltd (Labroy),
has recently completed the construction of the 4825 BHP Anchor Handling Tug
Supply vessel at Labroy’s subsidiary, PT Nanindah Mutiara Shipyard in
Batam, Indonesia.
The 56m Rolls-Royce’s UT-Class vessel is specifically
designed and built to meet the stringent requirements for its owner, Swire Pacific
Offshore Limited (SPO). The multifunctional deep water AHT Supply and Service
Vessel which is designed for satisfying the general demands of the offshore
industry, has achieved the enviable reputation as the most successful offshore
service vessels on the world market. This ensures the optimum solution for the
specified application
Named M.V. “Pacific Pilot” , the AHTS is
second of four newbuildings built for SPO. M.V. “Pacific Patriot”
was delivered in September 2004 with the rest in early 2005.
The 1200 tonnes cargo deadweight vessel complies to
Det Norske Veritas Classification with class notation of DNV + 1A1, TUG, SF.
Two main engines – each 2412 BHP Bergen C25:32L6P – supply the propeller
thrust at a speed of 13.5 knots free running at 100% MCR.
. Labroy Shipbuilding and Engineering Pte Ltd leads the
Gro¬up's Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Division. The Division provides a full
range of shipbuild¬ing and shiprepair services at its larger yard, PT Nanindah
Mutiara Shipyard in Batam (Indonesia), supplemented by a smaller shiprepair
yard in Jurong (Singa¬pore). Located at Tanjung Unjung, the shipyard occupies
a total land area of 37 hectares with a long berthage of 1.5 kilometres
Labroy Ma¬rine Ltd, listed on the SES Mainboard
in October 1996, owns, operates and charters out tugs, barges, general cargo
vessels and livestock carriers and provides towing and dredging services. Today,
it is one of the largest Asia-based livestock transportation companies in the
world and one of the largest tug and barge owners cum operators in South East
Asia. In the tech¬nology division, it has an advanced facili¬ty producing
precision machined components for the electronics industry.
